No filter, no food.

I’m slightly obsessed.

Maybe only partially obsessed. I still get up and go to work and all that. But still.

I just can’t keep away from it.

You know, I probably wouldn’t pay so much attention to it.

But the photos. So many. Good enough to eat. Me love food long time.

I could look at photos of food, read stories of food, listen to people talking about food, for a long, long, time. And I do.

But it’s the food blogs that get me. Because blogs “aren’t” corporations, they’re people! Real people like me. If they can cook it, so can I. Right?

Not quite.

My stuff never really looks as effortless, delectable, and magically delicious as they do online. It’s disheartening.

Are those photos real? Or is it just trickery? Does everyone have a food stylist? Does everyone but me have a distressed farmhouse table and vintage white ceramic plates? I don’t know.

This is what I made for dinner today.

No matter how I tried to trick the sunset into cooperating, you can tell it’s just butternut squash, black bean, and corn chili. Or as I like to call it, Fart in a Bowl. I’ll keep trying, I guess.
